New Trials – 2017
Happy New Year!
We are happy to announce we will be recruiting for several new clinical research studies of obesity medication this year, beginning in February 2017. Studies typically include dietary and behavioral support for one year. Assignment to research drug will be blinded and randomized, meaning you may receive placebo. Participants will receive a physical examination and be given various laboratory tests, all at no cost. Each participant’s medical condition will be closely monitored. You will receive a small stipend to cover transportation and parking after being randomized into the trial.
Research studies can be a useful option for weight management creating a structured support for behavioral change, commitment, and an opportunity to try a new therapy—all at no cost to you. Most studies require one-hour appointments throughout the duration of the study. Participants will need to be comfortable with having blood drawn and fasting for 8 to 12 hour periods for all/most appointments.
If you, or someone you know might be interested in participating in an investigational drug study please complete this questionnaire and email it to us at (email@example.com). We use the questionnaire to help match your medical history with the study’s eligibility requirements. This questionnaire is also available on our website (www.wtmgmt.com).
Once the questionnaire has been received, a research team member will contact you, usually within two weeks. The best way to reach a research team member is at (703) 807-0037. Please leave a voicemail message detailing the best time to reach you between the hours of 8:00 AM-3:00 PM and a team member will contact you. Our office is located at 2800 S. Shirlington Road, Suite 505, Arlington, VA 22206. There is free parking available.

We design, implement and evaluate weight management/obesity protocols with the goal of increased understanding of obesity as a disease and its related co-morbid conditions. Our research strengthens the clinical work we do. As obesity experts we gain additional experience with medications before they become available and maintain an ongoing connection with scientists in the field.
We typically conduct several clinical trials a year examining the effects of different drugs on weight loss, and on improving metabolic conditions. We continuously recruit for people interested in participating in clinical research studies. Many of the trials include a lifestyle intervention including dietary and behavioral support.
Each research study has different requirements and obligations. Intervention intensity varies with each protocol. All drug trials are placebo controlled. We would be happy to discuss current studies for which you might be eligible. There is no cost for participation in research trials.
